So, I had a stress test done last week that came back normal (whew!). So, the thousands of (US) dollars spent on that test wasn't all for naught, I got to calculate my vo2max !! 63.1. Not too bad for a 40 (ahem) something woman. I'd be interested to hear others' scores.

I had mine tested a little over a year ago while participating in a run-related research study (yay for free nerd tests and geek toys). Mine is only 50.3 - which I felt good about until a few moments ago. I am also a 40 (ahem) something woman. According to the chart on my report, which ranks on a 5-point scale from Poor to Superior, for a woman in our age category, anything over 45 is Superior.

I also did a free test as part of a study a little while ago.
I was just coming back into training after a decent break so I was happy with my 49.3. Also exactly the same score that I got a number of years back.
Next time the plan is to crack the 5-0!

@rangamel in the interest of full disclosure my stress test was 12 days after a marathon so I was "fully trained" .. so 49 is a-ok when not fully trained. Keep us posted on your 50+ !!!

This is not as much fun as I thought it would be. 0/10 would not buy again

And I took a stress test a few years ago. They said I was stressed.

I think I hit 70 once, but that was probably either metric or my perceived age

For those of y'all that have done this, how does it compare to the number Garmin gives you?

Based on what my Garmin says my VO2max is, I'd imagine it's a pretty big difference.

I'd like to do an actual test one day. Just not enough to pay for it

Done several research studies over the years. Always mid 60s. Last year got a 66 while doing a timetrial/altitude/Viagra research study.

Garmin Fenix only gives me a measly 62, that scornful device. I'm 46yo man BTW

Curious what ma cheetah drops a 5k or 10k in, 65 sounds OUTSTANDING. Women average about 10 lower than men. If I was a 75 - I'd be a pro, I think

See - this is where I think I should be MUCH faster than I am given I have a decent ticker. But I really suffer with strength training. My 5K times are SLOW even compared to my marathon times. I have a great engine but a weak chassy. I am working on strength this year to see if it makes me a better athlete.
My fastest 5K is 20:12, my fastest marathon is 3:12, and I just ran a marathon with a cold coming on in 3:18 but an average HR of 174. (I think that may have taken some years off my life)

Thank you for the complement, and I don't want to sound like every d-bag that is fast and says how slow they are.... I'm just saying it seems like I should be faster, and fast / slow is an admittedly relative term.
I have been a runner for almost 30 years. But I think I have at least one more PR in front of me somewhere. There are many women my age getting faster, and I am trying to figure out how I can do the same. Mystery continues ....

    Nice hovering @iamuwere !!!!!

@AaronWebstey , I sense a helicopter badge for all those hovering above 60 VO2 max. (don't worry, I'm not badge hunting, I'm a low to mid 50s guy, in age and VO2 max)
