Matt Fitzgerald books

I see Matt Fitzgerald has a new book out. It seems like he always ha anew book. I have found some useful information in the books. I am curious to see what others think. I love the 80/20 running book mostly because it seems like easy training to me. That makes it easy to like. My times went up training this way but my consistency went up and no injuries.
Of course Ironwar is a classic. For good and bad it was a good read on an awesome race.

Racing Weight was a good read and helped me a lot.

Before I read Iron War, I had heard about Dave & Mark being pissed about how it was written. It may have covered the race in a lot of detail, but not speaking to them directly and using quotes out of context wasn't cool. That was at the back of my mind when I did get round to reading it.

I also liked racing weight. I also have one of his cookbooks. Not bad. Ironwar is a great story, but it's always bothered me that his blow by blow of the race is pretty much a copy of the tv broadcast. Plus the fact that Dave and Mark hated it is a big negative for me.

I have the Racing weight cookbook. Some great recipes in there. As for the latest book, it sounds a bit like Chicken Soup for the Triathlete Soul.

I liked Racing Weight. But Matt's best work was the training plan I used last year to PR Ironman by over an hour.

@Billabong Is that in the Racing Weight book or did he do one up for you personally?

@Brent_R it was a cookie cutter plan from Training Peaks

I forgot about Racing Weight. I liked that book too. i saw his plans on Trainingpeaks but have not tried them. I used a marathon plan from 80/20 for IMLouisville. It worked for endurance but I think I should have used a higher level plan for a faster run.
