Anyone doing IMMT?

slickfins_Ryanslickfins_Ryan Member, Rooster Endurance Member, POTM

Hi friends! A buddy convinced me to do another exercise competition and I said yes, with the stipulation that poutine had to be involved. Is anyone going to be at IMMT?

Also is there an official Rooster Endurance/Tri Roost kit?
Sworry I’ve been gone for so long!

Kind of wish I was Canadian. Sorry.

    @slickfins_Ryan
If you have time, please come to the Sworry Trials in 2 weeks. Play with Webstey, Craig D, Paul C, Kyle H, Preach, James Lange, and maybe Zach and Clay. We have room for you in the cabins.
Drive or fly to Michigan for the new "Impossibleman" race on July 22. No charge. Use it as multisport training. It's an all day looping triathlon. We are also playing around on the Wed. eve July 20 and all day Thurs, July 21. Then Saturday, you can run in the Ode to Laz or just drink the free beer.
The wed-thursday stuff requires no signup. The Friday and Saturday do. DM me for codes.

The official Roost kit is briefs. While we did get some custom, red/black buffalo check budgy smugglers a couple years back, any brief will do.

Also, what's the dumb wetsuit question you have?

@Tad_M I’d love to come to the Sworry Trials! I’m not going to be able to swing it but it but I’m putting it in my calendar for next year! @KHilgendorf noted on the briefs! I actually have a pair of the flannel ones, not sure how well my backside would hold up after 112 on no padding though 😉 I will be rocking my old school TRS Racing kit then!

@KHilgendorf my friend was just wondering about a new wetsuit (I think the Covid years have necessitated a size up). He’s between these…

“I would love the Roka maverick or maverick comp II, but I can’t find them in my size (M) anywhere. I’m willing to spend up to $500. The orca athlete float seems like a decent option as does the AEGIS X and Araya from Huub. If I gave you 500.00 what would you buy?”

I am wayyyyy out of the loop with tri gear so I have no idea what to tell him. Do you know any of these?

Kind of wish I was Canadian. Sorry.

Wetsuits are very body-specific and swim-style specific.

I can't give an opinion on any of those, or any other, without know what his individual needs are.

For me, I'd do the Araya since it's thinner and I grew up a swimmer and hate shoulder restrictions. I could then go down a size and get a touch more streamlined by packing my fat into a smaller casing. But he might want the added buoyancy and warmth of the Aegis X. The Orca is even more buoyant (3:8 vs 3:5) so I'm sure I'd hate it, but it might be just the trick for him if the fit is right.

BTW, I hope the Rooster team gets back going and there's a reorder of the stuff. I like the design and fit of the Jackroo one piece I got.

Yes. Let's get an order going after the sworry trials with a target delivery of next spring. We need to align our expectations with current supply chain realities! Shout out to @Mark_after_Dark , can we get some logistics comedy up in this bitch

Someone on the run yesterday shouted to me that they used to be on TRS. Was anyone else at IMMT?

Thanks y'all! I accomplished my time goal of not dying. Hahaha. I actually did better than I thought I would though, I had fairly garbage training this year compared to the last time around. But on the flipside, it wasn't a torrential all-day downpour this year like it was the day of my first go at it, so I actually got to see scenery of the course and not just my white knuckles and the 3 ft of road in front of my tire. And my parents and my in-laws came to cheer! It was a really great day.
