Please tell me your probability of coming this July for Sworry if I don't have you listed. Just starting to put together accommodation plans.
I apologize to anyone who's already sent word and I've forgotten. I think we have @Brew_Tri , @PreachSwanson , @James Lange , @Aaron Webstey , @Craig_D , @Zach Miller from afar based on my limited memory and powers of observation. Locally we have Roosters @P_Cottrell and Jenni Wolgast (and Daugher), and Sworry founder Matt Hortop. In addition, locally, we have Sarah and Andrew Moore and a bunch of Ode dingbats who are into the Sworry stuff now.

Woo hoo, I will install the office door on the cabin!

@Aaron Webstey Are you connecting through Toronto? If so let me know your flight number and I'll try to get on the same flight, or at least to Detroit around the same time. Maybe we can split a rental car?
I kind of lucked out because my work is sending me to a week long leadership course and I was able to book it in North Carolina the week after Ode, so I only have to pay to get to Detroit and work is paying for my trip home (via Greensboro).
@Aaron Webstey Send me your travel details as well.
@James Lange @Martin here ya go!
Is there a schedule of events for Wednesday - Friday? I’m in for at least Wednesday and Thursday nights. Won’t have a bike with me, but will have appropriate swimwear and sunscreen.
Fortunately, our schedule is only fixed for the Friday and Saturday "official" races. I can send you codes to register for those. All of our other Sworry races can be done at any time, any order you'd like. Including doing other races on Friday and Saturday while the official events are going on. Our extreme flexibility borders on disorganization (but that's only to an untrained eye).

I just booked my flight. Oddly enough we're both flying Delta from Toronto to Detroit leaving at 9am, but we're not on the same flight. I guess that will be the first race of the Sworry Trials.
On Sunday I'm off to Greensboro for a course for work.
Thanks for the flight information. I've alerted the authorities.
@James Lange , did your flight get changed too? Not sure if they'd arrest you two, but @Aaron Webstey arrives at the crack of dawn too. It's only a 4:00 to 4:15 drive from Toronto to the park. Wonder what a one-way car rental would be split between you two? We could drop it at FNT airport 15 minutes from the homestead. Gets you both here around 12 instead of 3 on the new flight timing. Those Delta bastards.

By the way @wchevron , @KHilgendorf , @Aaron Webstey @Martin @Matt @Kuch @Zach Miller @rigpig etc. etc. The code ROOST99 gets you into the official Ode to Laz on Saturday (try a lap, 45-50 minutes of bliss - then beer!). Use it at checkout on ultrasignup.com It's 99 off, so $20 net. (Sworry, that's for swag and insurance). The Impossibleman official triathlon on Friday is also a nominal fee for Roosters. ROOST is the coupon on trireg.com for a flat $20 entry fee. (one circuit will take you 2 hours or 2:30 if you're slow like me - you don't have to kill yourself trying for the Impossibleman challenge)
Full disclosure, you can also do any other tri you want on Friday and Saturday without paying and doing the "official" events.

Won't be able to make it this year. Next summer is looking less congested so may be able to make it then.
When does signup close for impossibleman? I don't want to lock someone out, seeing as it's only open to 45 racers, and I'm not sure I'll be able to stay beyond late morning on Friday.
Also, it's 7 laps? I'd actually be interested in "maybe" trying to finish it. Same course as the 69er?
@Tad_M as of now my flight hasn’t changed. I didn’t pay for a flexible ticket so I don’t know how much I’ll be able to tinker with it.
@James Lange , your travel agent needs to talk to @Aaron Webstey 's agent.
@KHilgendorf , we'll be lucky if anyone besides us is racing. The beauty of it is that you get to do 1x or more, your choice. Heck, maybe someday someone can get 8x laps...
Parts of the course are the same as the Old 69er. The true Old 69er is a gravel ride, but can also be done with the road loop. Same road loop as the Impossibleman. Run course for the 69er is the same as Impossibleman, but Impossibleman includes the Ode to Laz out and back section. The swim course is the same. The beer is identical.

I'm very confused about the triathlon. Is it called the 69er? Is it a sprint or something else? Why am I so old
@Aaron Webstey Like sex, if you're doing it right, you'll complete her in less then 69 minutes...
Oh, and there's a backyard "ultra" triathlon called the impossibleman which is 1/7 of an ironman every 2 hours. So about 2/3 Olympic with a shorter swim.
If I'm gonna do anything, I'm gonna do it as hard as possible and finish as fast as possible. But I'll drink and watch this impossible man
Can’t help on part of this. I can help on the tris. We have several. Hatchling Micro. Chicken Super Sprint. Old 69er Sprint. The Aardvark Oly. And the Impossibleman. Only the Impossibleman requires registration and has a scheduled start time.
Do any or all.
Also, please everyone sign up and do at least one loop of the Impossibleman. You dont have to do a loop in 2 hours, but someday someone will want to be an Impossibleman and do 7 loops (or more)
In 14 hours. We aren’t making the rule of leaving every 2 hours. One Impossibleman loop is not as long as the Aardvark Oly, but it’s longer than the Old 69er. An easy Impossibleman loop is a great way to recover from the all out Old 69er effort.

@Tad_M I'll see you in a month or so, we can talk logistics.
@Craig_D is coming. He didn't post here. @P_Cottrell is stuck here. @PreachSwanson and @GasBomb

I can confirm that I will also be there. Arriving Tuesday to inconvenience @Tad_M extra early and leaving Monday morning so I watch one of my kids perform in a play in Hamilton that evening. Since everyone is leaving early (Sunday) it would appear there is going to be a high probability of repeating the jello shot fiasco.
Fiasco..., I'm rather certain it crossed over to a full-fledged Debacle. We've set a high bar. We're honoured and ready for your arrival @Craig_D

Just came back from an appointment with the spine surgeon and I'm comfortable saying I will definitely be coming. Yay! Getting a cortisone shot in my spine in a couple weeks and might need surgery next year, but I'm confident that I could make the trip today. Really looking forward to it.
So happy to get to meet you James, but most importantly I'm happy you have some light at the end of the spine tunnel. It's a shitty area to deal with, so good for you! If there's any restriction on beer X any meds you'll be taking, just send that info to the Sworry Trials head medical officer. (it will be filed and promptly ignored)

@Tad_M The spine surgeon told me yesterday: "pharmacists say you shouldn't drink [on this medication], but really if you're a 10 beer guy it just makes you a 6 beer guy."
