Olympics discussion

Just saw the news that the US has picked Zaferes over Spivey. I love Zaferes, but her form this year has been total garbage. Not swimming, biking, or running well and even her transitions haven't been good. _Maybe she can pull herself together in the next 6 weeks, but Spivey is basically a guaranteed top-10. I also don't think that I'd choose Zaferes over Knibb or Rappaport for the relay, but I'd definitely choose Spivey over Knibb and Rappaport for the first leg.

Flora Duffy is probably looking at the US and British picks and laughing her ass off.

I never expected them to do it, but after watching the Leeds race I think the best chance GB has of gold in the women's race is having Charles-Barclay blow the swim apart and hope Duffy doesn't get in the lead bike pack.

She's great, but I fear she's been put into a Paula Findlay 2012 situation.

I love her too. She's the nicest person in triathlon and one of the all-time greats. However, her form doesn't look great right now and I don't think she's being put in a position to succeed. I really hope she can pull herself together in the coming weeks.

Let's hope not. That was a heartbreaking situation.
