  • Let's See Your Critters

Hey All - this place popped in my head today. It’s nice out, folks are biking and running past my window - great triathlon weather. I had my third hip surgery in 32 months, pretty radical intervention to save the joint and get me pain relief. My doc claims I will be able to run again but I keep asking him to not encourage what we all know is a bad idea. Anyway, I have been largely bed bound for three weeks and have dozens of pics of my critters taking care of me. No clue who remembers me but I hope you are all heading into a great season of racing and enjoying the summer weather.

  • Treadmill buying advice

Anyone been eyeing one of these:

Consider me intrigued but I'm imagining it will hit a price point I should avoid.

  • 2018 Goals and Challenges

The last two years have been all about fixing my hip and figuring out if I can even run again. I (slowly) ran the Marine Corps Marathon in October with no pain. My doc was pseudo-happy since I need surgery on the left hip but I have no pain so that means no surgery. I've been treating life like it's house money for the moment. Smart? I think so, I know I have to have surgery again so why not do what I love until then. I'm more focused on swimming distance out of self preservation but I plan to push things a bit.

    - Lose 8-10 pounds
    - Chicago Marathon - October 2018
    - Cape May 5K swim - June 2018
    - Atlantic City 70.3 - September 2018 (maybe)
    - Local races
    - Drink better scotch
    - Kick ass, take on a new business venture and spend more time with my boy.

  • Friday Boozing Open Thoughts Thread

@College_Tri - let's work a first swap. I'd also be open to training small drams of scotch with folks.
@AaronWebstey I dont know what a stick is but just wash your hands after. Should we start a bottle trading thread? @GentlemanJerseyDave

  • Trainer Season Is Here - What To Binge Watch?

I destroyed early trainer and treadmill sessions to Ash vs. The Evil Dead on Netflix. If you liked the original I was pleasantly surprised how this concept held true to all the best elements of the original.

    Enjoying The Defenders now.

I think I'm four sessions in on trying to get to the end of Chappie. I'll be damned if I don't finish it.
