  • Make pace clocks great again

I mean it's gee whiz cool and I'm all for that; I'll buy damn near anything if its got buttons that I can press. But honestly is it that difficult to read that ancient analog pace clock hanging on the wall of nearly every pool I've ever swam (swum?, swimmed?) in. I think the people, like me, who like the additional features that this clock could potentially provide already own a Garmin or Suunto product that does most of these things, plus more, right on our wrists.

  • Roost Approved Donuts - World Famous!

Place here in Louisville, Nord's Bakery, has a maple bacon donut that is out of this world.  It is literally a donut with maple frosting and a slice of delicious bacon on top.

  • Bacon grease

I was always under the impression you would get bigger gains from drinking the bacon grease during your rides.  Something about lubing up your vessels for smoother blood flow or something like that.

  • Imtx party thread.

Twas I who passed you at the 50 mile mark @GasBomb, had to make up time after my 1:45 swim, ugh.  @ItsShug, good to meet you man, you shook my hand on my last lap so I apoligize if I looked or acted mildly retarded, at that point I probably was.  The TRS support out there was phenomenal, thanks all you guys for showing up.

  • Ironman Texas Aquathon?

NIMBYism is what killed Princeton 70.3, threatens Rev3 Quassy, and is why I think IMKY gets phased out in the next five years.
Speaking as a Louisvillian, I'm not sure I agree with the IMKY sentiment. The population as a whole seems to be, and always has been, very supportive of IMKY, specifically the bike course. There are a select few who are more directly affected who voice an objection but as a whole Louisville is very proud and very happy to host IMKY each year. That being said I saw some nasty things on the bike course last year that I feel were related to bikes having to share the roads with vehicles. Most of these incidents I attribute to poor bike handling on the participants part. Having trained on the IMKY bike course for hundreds, if not thousands of miles, during the off season I have had mostly positive experiences with vehicles, with the select asshole here and there.

As a whole though, I think your statement is spot on and I think it's sad and speaks to a larger problem of people sharing the roads with cyclists and poorly designed infrastructure that doesn't support cyclists.

  • Trucker Hats

If I had known it would devolve into this I would have never brought it up. I'm sorry to all who witnessed this debacle.

  • Finding the perfect saddle

Perhaps we could make this into a saddle swap thread? I have a few laying around I would be willing to swap if there is any interest. I have one that "works" but I'm still looking for the perfect one.
