  • Schoeman

They ruled the action was legal at the time, they are not going to retroactively change the assistance rule if it turns out Schoeman was doping.

  • Triathlon Preview Show ep 73 - Super League and some WTC Races

I think Vincent Luis would be amazing at this format, or any of the athletes who race Bundesliga or French Grand Prix.

  • Barkley marathons....

My response to the documentary was that I love that this event exists and I never, ever, ever want to do it.

  • Weekly Poll - Aged Grouper | TRS Triathlon

I did a couple marathons, did a couple of long distance cycling events. Then my mom died. I learned to swim because I figured I had most of it down, why not go for all three. And no one can see you cry in the pool. I had sort of shut down so running straight at something that scared the shit out of me seemed like a good way to grieve.

I still occasionally ride by the cemetery where she is buried (Mill Valley, baby!) and I almost always cry when I race because I started tri to find a way to cry again. It's also really fun.

  • Barkley marathons....

One thing about those pictures that I really like, is how many of the runner with modest goals achieved them. The people who were all "I'mma probably do one loop." and they do it. I love realistic expectations.

  • Sufferfest 4DP

Sufferfest is trying to apply a more individualized coaching protocol to the rest of us. And AC is bitching because he said this 20 years ago, but lost out on the revenue stream because he didn't want to design a product that would give access to the masses.
Really all I see is a guy who thinks he is entitled to credit for what they've done and can't stand that he isn't receiving hosannahs . He is lashing out against marketing (which has absolutely worked because so many people are talking about it) and the very idea that someone else is making money off this work - all the while telling you to read his book.

He isn't giving any credit to SUF for the packaging, the test protocol, the retooling of the app to calculate power targets from different settings, and frankly for building on monetizing his work in a way that he didn't. (So I totally agree with you on that one)

He's a bitter old asshole and because he can't win rhetorically he's defaulted to invective. Comparing McQuillen to Weinstein was just out there. All he is doing at this point is digging a hole and hurting any brand that is associated with him. SUF and WKO4 actually look great. They are responsive and professional and are doing themselves proud right now.

  • Sufferfest 4DP

I use Sufferfest and have done for quite a while. I quite like the App, it's a good interface. I'm actually looking forward to my first shot at 4DP (although it will simply tell me - you are slow and bad at everything! and I will nod and continue to not cycle six months of the year)

  • WTS Montreal this weekend

Tommy Z just put a video of the bike course preview up on Facebook. Looks like it has a bit of everything.

  • Lifetime Tri making some changes

You ever get the feeling none of these people actually do market research?

Like, I don't know, going to local, popular races and asking people what would get them to sign up for a triathlon? These changes seem targeted not at newbies but at casual triathletes who have already done some races.

  • IT band help

    ITBS suuuuuuucks.

Rest - get physical therapy and do the homework they give you. Mine tries to flare up every now and then and I tame it back down by being a good monkey with my strengthening exercises.

    Definitely check your shoes.

    Good luck.
