Recommend me new cycling shoes
Title says it all. I don't care if they are for Tri - my tri days are largely over and I have a pair. I want a great cycling shoe that is comfortably, of great quality and roughly in the $250ish range give or take a few bones. If they come in awesome neon colors it is a bonus - I love my cycling gear gaudy. I am back on the bike and just ordered a new road bike for more comfort but I'm disconnected on the trends and hype and figure someone here can just narrow this down to a few models. Thanks in advance.

Good call on trying to color coordinate. I wouldn't want to look ridiculous.
I've been eyeing Giro as a brand based on what I'm seeing on the road.

Do you want Boa, Laces, Straps, Buckle, or a combination.
Northwave - Evolution Plus
Garneau - Course Air lite
Giro - Empire Classic
Mavic - Cosmic Pro
And MANY more in red from Scott, Pearl Izumi, Lake, Fizik, Diadora, and Sidi
I have the all white, and they are incredible.
Curious about people's experience with Lake and Mavic.
And the old fallback, the Shimano SPD Compatible Sandal:

I've been wearing converse low tops 6 out of 7 days a week since I was 15. I like not thinking about these things but I appreciate the notes in particular on the style, I hadn't considered it much since I've been married to ti-shoes so long. I think I like the buckles - laces are a bad idea for a guy who continues to find new and creative ways to hurt themselves. The wire is always kind of sexy but I fear I'd find the way to break it.
Anyway, the colors are awesome. I have three weeks to decide and order. Thanks again.

Or maybe I should applaud his willingness to shine a light on such things but I'm tending to the former.

Any thoughts on BOA vs velcro. Have a pair of Specialized with boa now which I find fine.
I just found that microscopic screw driver that I'm supposed to use if it breaks some day..... really? Has anyone fixed or adjusted a BOA product? At least I'll have a toothpick in my saddlebag.
