Of course, I only went half the distance you did so can't imagine having to deal with that after 140 miles - with one gear to choose from. Not sure if it was on your course, but for us there was a series of short climbs on 140th around mile 25 ("Denton Wall") where the steepness caught me by surprise and was almost doing a paper boy at one point to keep the pedals turning.
I had a pizza and 2 orders of chips and salsa after I laid on the ground for a while at the end. I probably have salsa on my face in podium pics.

I also learned that herds of cattle hang out on levees at 3am. And that if you sit on the floor of the Walmart in Indianola, Mississippi drinking chicken broth, in full bike kit covered in sweat and grime and dirt, no one will even bat an eye.
