DK gets most of the headlines when it comes to gravel races, but I'm looking at the Michigan Coast to Coast race as a more affordable alterntive as it's "local" (I live in MI). Plus, I think there could potentially be something special about riding an epic race like this in its inaugural year. If you haven't heard of it, the race will go from Saginaw Bay west to Ludington, approximately 218 miles. The big goal will be to beat the sunset.
After two years of disappointing IM's (IT Band injury) I've decided to focus on aquabikes and bike races, and I have to say my schedule is looking pretty awesome. I believe I have 8 or 9 races on the calendar so far for less than the cost of an IM.
Has anyone else heard of this race, or is anyone else interested?
