Fascinating reddit experiment - 'Place'

"The rules were simple. Each user could choose one pixel from 16 colors to place anywhere on the canvas. They could place as many pixels of as many colors as they wanted, but they had to wait a few minutes between placing each one.
Over the following 72 hours, what emerged was nothing short of miraculous. A collaborative artwork that shocked even its inventors.
From a single blank canvas, a couple simple rules and no plan, came this:"

Did anyone participate in this? I can't help but imagine a triathlon version of this experiment, in which a giant Slowtwitch logo emerges in the centre and spreads, destroying all in its path. Meanwhile, our users figure out how to sneak a few drawings of donuts, middle fingers, and penis-shaped gummies into the far reaches of the corners, Macca pays for 100,000 robots to build and maintain the words "Super League Boys Are Fair Dinkum", and Jordan Rapp painstakingly etches out 500 words on why he refuses to get involved with this experiment (only to have them overwritten by a giant #NONERDS from #IMLP7th winner and social media darling Ray Bothelo).

It's only a matter of time (I hope) before somebody open-sources this software or something like it. Other ideas include an 'all endurance' version, with cyclists droning on about how there needs to be more rules and order, runners restricting themselves to a minimalist 4-colour sub-palette, and triathletes randomly placing a few pixels here and there and then bragging to their friends about how they're the best "Placetion" in their age group.

I don't know which is better, the reddit experiment, or your vivid triathlon sub plot. #NONERDS #LEGCANNONS FTW

Germany taking over France, then becoming the EU was a pretty interesting sub-plot.

No kidding @GasBomb , that caption is gold. Came out of nowhere. What would Uli say? Here we go again. Clearly the ceiling is not the roof for Webstey's talent.
(and I like the Pink Floyd homage in the center)
