@Matt to be honest I haven't ridden that bike since the race Apr 2nd lol. It's literally on the shelf in my garage sans wheels at the moment. I have only done cycling races since then.

Training went really well for my Half Marathon A race this Spring. Then the day before stomach flu hit. No sleep, or food, or really water but managed a PB by 2 minutes on the same course for 8th overall, 2ns AG and a 1:21. I feel like crap right now.

Quick stats for the Morgan Hill Sprint Tri:
    3/4 mile swim
    16 mile bike
    5 mile run
    21/25: position in age group
    4: DNFs in age group
    2/10: position among Clydesdales
3: free Sierra Nevadas consumed, or 4
2: Mexican food meals following the race
Maintaining Clydesdale eligibility through the above: priceless

Oh and the neckless sonuvabitch that beat me by 14 minutes is on a team coached by Bill Cosby I think.

Coronation Standard Distance today. Knew it was going to be a bad day when I spilled my coffee all over myself and almost ran over my front wheel with my car...

Hitting the high points of this one:
Swam an extra 100m in the pool because I lost track and the guy counting lost track
Crashed my bike with 8 k to go.. Lotsa road rash that stung but was able to finish the race. Was looking for a big improvement at this one and ended up only 6 minutes slower that last year. Now I need a beer and some Advil

I had a few positive comments on the kit. It really does stand out in a crowd. I will say this too, the kit did not tear or rip at all (before or after the crash) which is impressive.

I didn't get a picture of me racing, but I did get a picture for racing.

Leg 10 of the Cabot Trail Relay. MacKenzie Mountain

Of course, during the race the leg doesn't start until 9:30 PM so it's pitch black and doesn't look as good. It was pretty surreal running up the mountain and hearing the sounds of coyote and moose in the background. Their sounds were drowned out by the sound of my heavy breathing and lung butter snarls.

The time cutoff for each leg is 6:00/km. I came in at 1:26:00 for the 14.7km, or 5:50/km. I was pretty nervous after having a few KM over 7:00 on the steeper parts but managed to get my shit together and get a finishing time.

Just finished 4 OA at Mountains of Misery outside of Blacksburg, VA - 103 miles with 9700 ft climbing. Not bad for a flat-lander triathlete with a single 70 mile long ride and a few ~60s in the books this season. The extent of my climbing is riding over a bridge here in Virginia Beach. All those roadie mountain goats should be ashamed of themselves. Here's a shitty finish line pic. The evil bastards end the ride with a four-mile 12%–16% climb.

Vineman Monte Rio Olympic. What a brutal swim against a seemingly calm river current. Thought it would never end. The banner in the foreground tells exactly what I needed when it was over.

Either booze, or the way they put down a horse. Both would have worked.

The cmpletely unauthorized podium shot from the Triple T. Hope it meets Dark Marks style specification.
Seriously though, @G Scott Layher beat me like a drum on a terribly hard course over 3 days and 4 races. Happy to have met and talked with @tjdickey and @Paul Glatzhofer from the team. Kudos to TJ and Paul for tackling the extreme Triple T beast! Also met Kyle from the squad during the Sunday race bike leg. Mucho fast on his bike, and he still took time to say hi as he went by! Cool. Very fun weekend.

Thanks @fyrehaar, you were crushing it! Yeah I literally swam the downstream in half the time it took me to get up. Was my first time racing there so I can't compare to before, but the bike course was plenty challenging for me! My bike handling is about as bad as it gets...just happy I was able to keep the rubber side down!

I've raced the last 3 weekends in a row. May 20th I took 4th OA at the coldest triathlon I have ever done, Hickory Grove Sprint near Ames, Iowa. Memorial day weekend I was 10th OA at the Apple duathlon in Sartell, MN. Last weekend I was 5th OA at the Buffalo, MN Sprint. A buddy got a couple pics last weekend, otherwise I haven't been very good with the photos.

Nice tuck! What's that crank? Oh and your front tire logo isn't aligned with the valve.

@KenElPescadoPelado no dice on the I pod mini. They had a decent cash purse so all the fast kids came out to play.. @Matt Thanks, it's just an Ultegra crank but I've got the red colored 52/36 oval rings by absolute black and a stages on the other side. I bought the wheels from @Zach Boring and there is a latex tube in there that I have had 0 problems with, so I don't want to mess with it. I will submit it to baaw when I throw new slicks on. So I'm blaming him

Today was my first race of the season...half aquabike at the Grand Rapids Tri. It was the roughest swim I've experienced to date and my HR and power were not working on the bike. Despite all of that, 2nd place! It's been a couple of years since I've gone by straight up perceived exertion and I'm pretty happy with that result. I lost my 9 minutes so a better swim and working power and HR probably wouldn't have made a difference. I did lose some time...need to break down and buy a tri kit one of these days. Aquabike is my new favorite race...no running!

I ran a 10k today but the bike that was leading the run missed a turnaround so I ended up running 13.1k. My time sucked in any event , but I was second of the real finishers in the 13.1k.

I also built part of a fence this weekend, which I am more proud of and was more of an endurance event, because I had to dig out two posts,
and I am now drinking wine, so I win at life for now.
